Willem spent a few years with Springbok Radio until its closure in 1986 where after he joined the First National Bank Video Unit (later known as First Video Connection).
In the ten years he spent there the studio went from 8 Track Soundcraft to 24 Track Sony and in 1995, became one of the first fully digital suites with the Studer Dyaxis DAW. Willem even mixed and co-produced some tracks for an album by Duncan Faure on the Dyaxis, which was a prolific audio production tool and the only true digital multi-track DAW at that time.
In 1998, Willem joined The Wave Factory where he worked on the Sadie system before switching to Steinberg Nuendo in 2005. Here the work ranged from radio production to all types of video
post and even a recording session of an Indian group playing religious Mantras!
In recent years, Willem has become conversant with ProTools on a freelance basis doing commercials for GloMail, as well as post work for Absa, Steers, Standard Bank and many more.
He also has experience mixing events, theatre, live television and OB%u2019s.
