The event to announce the winner of South Africa’s Next Top Editor was held at The Maximillien restaurant at The Da Vinci Hotel in Sandton, Johannesburg on 14 December 2010. Guests were treated to live entertainment from singer/songwriter, Adrian Galliard while sampling some of the best food Sandton has to offer, courtesy of the fantastic team at the Maximillien.

It was generally agreed that the Ireland/Davenport junior creative team, Chloe Jordaan and Sarah Keevey had come up with a great concept which was beautifully executed by 7Film’s Wednesday, who may possibly be the hardest working director around and is definitely a talent to watch!

The winner was announced to be Lucian Barnard, who is currently based in Cape Town, however judging by the reaction to his cut, he will soon be moving back to Johannesburg to take a position at Aces Up as their trainee commercials editor.

The winner receives a training course with Purple Mouse, an internship with Aces Up Post Production and a paid commercial job with 7Films. The winning cut will be flighted both locally and internationally and will be submitted to all the relevant competitions worldwide.

The competition and event were generally agreed to be a great success so watch this space as this is set to become an annual event!
